St. Louis and Versailles

Illinois Capital
Just got back in from a trip out to St. Louis, MO to visit my friend Matt who lives right over in Illinois. Cute town that he's from - about 600 people or so. He showed me around, introduced me to many relatives and friends and I really got a feel for life out there. There house was a niec size and had no AC, but it was relatively cool both nights we were there. And Matt's parents are really cute as well. His mom is German, spoke a little bit growing up, and so she showed me her family history (birth certificates, marriage licenses, photos, etc.) and his dad wanted to play catch with me the first time we met at their friend's house on the Illinois river for a cook-out. Very sweet and real people - I had a great time with the people of Versailles, IL.

St. Louis at night, from the top of the arch
We went to St. Louis on Saturday to go see the Cardinals play against the Phillies, which was followed by a concert by Mercy Me. Then we putzed around, saw the rest of the city, went up in the Arch at night and ate a really nice dinner at this Italian restaurant that was actually owned and operated by real italians. I had fun and it was good to see Matt.
