Kick back
It's starting! Ahhh!
No, but really, everyone is really awesome here - the staff, the other trainees. It's gonna be great times I can tell. After our sessions yesterday we had the chance to get some dinner and hang out and relax a little. Ok, that's all for now, time to get going on another long day of training stuff!

Celebration for UPS and the World
Why do we love UPS? Well, besides the many bountiful reasons to be obsessed with them as I am, add this one to your list:
That's fools, you've read correctly. UPS has hybrid trucks.
This comes as no surprise, though, as UPS has had over 20,000 low-emission and alternative fuel trucks in use for sometime now. In a world where Big Business is ruled by the mighty dollar at no costs, its refreshing to see a company take what I consider to be large strides towards environmental protection. And other companies will almost be forced to do likewise in the near future. Our population is slowly becoming aware of the irreversible and imminent effects that are being caused by our lack of attention to the natural world around us. With the technology and resources available to us, why aren't we further along than we currently are?
Human Laziness. But I won't ruin the successes UPS has displayed by segueing into bad human social topics. Cheers to you, UPS, may you only continue to do what's right, even if it costs you a few bucks.

help me
It's almost 4:40am and I'm still awake after playing video games and drinking wine and I've come to the conclusion that I'm gonna freaking miss all of you people... I know I'm going off to do something exciting with a bunch of new friends and that's gonna help with the transition, but fact is, I'm still gonna be sad to leave everyone. As much as my adventurous spirit leads me around the world, I am still a homebody in a small sense. Good-bye to you all... I love you all

St. Louis and Versailles
Just got back in from a trip out to St. Louis, MO to visit my friend Matt who lives right over in Illinois. Cute town that he's from - about 600 people or so. He showed me around, introduced me to many relatives and friends and I really got a feel for life out there. There house was a niec size and had no AC, but it was relatively cool both nights we were there. And Matt's parents are really cute as well. His mom is German, spoke a little bit growing up, and so she showed me her family history (birth certificates, marriage licenses, photos, etc.) and his dad wanted to play catch with me the first time we met at their friend's house on the Illinois river for a cook-out. Very sweet and real people - I had a great time with the people of Versailles, IL.
We went to St. Louis on Saturday to go see the Cardinals play against the Phillies, which was followed by a concert by Mercy Me. Then we putzed around, saw the rest of the city, went up in the Arch at night and ate a really nice dinner at this Italian restaurant that was actually owned and operated by real italians. I had fun and it was good to see Matt.
